Oh, and I can pick any of the dining plans… did you guys figure out why you had only 4 options?

Do you guys have any guesses as to why I still have not received my housing assignment? I completed my housing application on Friday the 14th, the day after I was accepted. I am quite perplexed considering I assumed the earlier you complete the application the eralier you should hear back. Any thoughts?

housing email received today!
i got a single in riepe (the quad). it was my 6th choice after kings court and the high rises because i didnt really particularly want to live with freshmen but i’m so happy i got a single!!! i applied for housing kinda late so its expected haha
where are you guys living?!!!

joe did u aply for the residential programs? because i didn’t and i got my housing assignment earlier than you even though i submitted the application after you did

joe, i did the same thing as you and im still waiting for housing too. my first choice was a residential program tho…

unsaidcrap: Nah, I did not try to get into a residential program. I’m probably calling them in a little bit.

lemme kno what they say joe. im getting pretty anxious myself.

Hey guys, did everyone get their housing yet?

I have yet to receive my housing assignment. When I called the Housing Office, they said that transfer housing is assigned on a rolling basis and should be coming out in the “near future.”

I’m still a bit nervous about housing, particularly since UPenn doesn’t guarantee housing for transfer students.

I haven’t received the email yet either. I called up housing assignments, and they said that we should know by the end of next week since they’re still processing the applications.

I got Gregory College House do you know if you can join the modern languages program if you live in the van pelt house? I applied for it as my residential program but I didn’t get it.

I’m in the same boat as Joe_L514. I submitted mine before June and still haven’t heard about housing. Could they possibly stick Wharton transfers in their own spot (I don’t see why they would).

And for any other Wharton transfers, have you tried to transfer your business credits yet? I have a statistics and managerial accounting course I want credit for, but that Wharton transfer credit request sheet made it sound like you couldn’t transfer business credits at all…

yo shootdapuck, I actually just received notification of my housing. It was up earlier on campusexpress though. You should login with your pennkey/pw on Penn’s campusexpress site. It is likely they update it there before sending you an email.

infinitii: I also got Gregory…

I’ve been checking Campus Express every day for the past month… basically since I applied in late May. No word yet, and I didn’t apply for any program either.

Huh. Well, how’s class registration going for everybody? We’re sort of in a weird place, esp. for freshman seminars and Writing courses – we’re registering after the upperclassman advanced registration and perhaps before the freshman advanced registration ends. So, some classes might have all upperclass spots taken and we’re left to wait to see if there will be any spots left after the freshmen register… bummer…

so are we supposed to be registering for classes? ive been really confused on this matter.

alu_teothc: Wait, we are required to take freshman seminars? Are you sure about that? I know we do need to complete the various requirements, like living world, physical world, arts and letters, and etc.

No, we’re not required. My advisor just told me that if you (an incoming sophomore, doesn’t apply to juniors) want a smaller class to help you adjust, you can take a freshman seminar. Many Penn sophomores also take freshman seminars, so you can meet people of your own age. I’m not taking one, but I am taking a Writing seminar (requirement) which seems to be able to fulfill the same purposes (same size, upperclassmen also present).

Anyhow, yes, register for classes now. Morrisey, have you spoken with your academic advisor yet? The gist is that now we’re competing for class spots with the incoming freshmen. I believe their advanced registration began the 28th of June.

hey, how do we sign up for classes? just got in…a bit confused with everything…

Did you guys send your final transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or did you direct it to a specific person? I did not realize until after sending my transcript that transcripts were supposed to be sent to Eddrena Owens. (piece of information found on the Penn Decisions site)
