Perhaps many people aren’t here and they don’t like to speak out very much
So ig we are two types of people speculating here. The ones who think it’s over, and the ones still hopeful somehow
For those still hopeful, I still think there’s a first time for everything, and for certain reasons Penn might be taking their time this year
I have seen not a single international get off the waitlist. And given US’s current political situation, I can never believe that every intl yielded, no matter how good upenn’s yield prediction might be

Maybe we, the WL pool, are way too strong and they can’t choose who to accept (Copium). On serious note, now that our other acceptances are also available, they might be trying to take people who would actually commit. Running background checks and deciding that might be taking time
upenn had a “first” this academic year when it came to releasing their ed decisions. it took them longer than usual to release them. maybe the same thing is happening here?

Well, maybe I shouldn’t have had hopes in the first place lol… International applicant, waitlisted by SEAS, feel like zero chance atp cuz of how people are getting off the waitlist of SEAS and that’s just a selective few… I guess Penn actually had a very high yield this year 
On one hand, I was happy to be waitlisted, cuz at least it’s better than a direct rejection, but on the other hand, this wait is killing me, and now it feels like there is no more chance of getting off the waitlist AHH
someone replied to my comment on reddit and said some got off but they were all full pay but without proof so not sure what to believe
Do you know if anyone got off the waitlist for CAS?
i asked but she hasn’t replied yet
I am international and know two people at my school that got offered at Penn but did not go (UK btw) so yield is definetly not 100% for internationals

u guys need to understand that colleges over admit people…its not always exact..its always way more

Same. Do they not reply to emails? Like at all? It’s been like 6 business days, and I even sent a short re inquiry 
We know. But if their predictions were this good, why keep so many students in the WL.
Even more importantly, why keep a low EFC intl like me in the WL?? I see no logical reason

wait till end of may..some students might back off..so they wanna keep all options open
Based of what others have said, Your application was very strong and you had something they wanted I guess but they had to make a tough decision and prioritise another student and in the case that the student doesn’t choose them that’s why you’re on the waitlist.
