UPenn Waitlist Class of 2029

Another long day of waiting starts. How to cope?

had someone call upenn today — they said that there might be more waitlist movement until early june. i hope u guys are comfortable with ur colleges because that does not sound promising at all  hopefully i don’t sound sarcastic

Penn finally emailed me back today and the end of the email was SUPER vague.

Thank you for your email and continued interest in Penn! Apologies for our delayed response.

There’s no other requirement to remain on the waitlist besides accepting your place on the waitlist. Additional letters of recommendation are completely optional. Please feel free to submit any new information or letters through your Penn Applicant Portal.

Should spaces in the class become available, we may turn to the waitlist. Decisions will be released on a rolling basis throughout May and June.

When they said “we may” it kind of threw me off a bit lol

Btw I was asking If I could send extra LOR’s

Could there be any reason for such a late decision except for the very few quotas

Kind of confirms that they didn’t take anyone off the waitlist for certain colleges. Otherwise they wouldn’t say “may”

Technically, that should mean there’s still hope. I can’t imagine UPenn not admitting a single CAS student off the waitlist

The reason remains mysterious to all of us. But I would assume this has something to do with trump and ‘freedom of speech’

i hate this response because how do they not know if space is filled up or not by now? also, little movement until early june sounds like they have a full class and might need to take off one or two people. usually, it would go until the end of june. someone genuinely help.

no right cause they already know who has commited and who hasnt its just torture atp lol

They weren’t so bored as to torture us deliberately.

Upenn class of 2027 had the same dilemma, yet about 100+ people came off. Before they even began taking people off someone received this email from them “Guys I emailed them to ask when there will be a movement on the waitlist and this’s what they said:
“At the moment, our Class is full, though we are watching the enrollment within each of the schools carefully in case spaces open up and we are able to make offers from the waiting list later this month or into early June.”” yet about 100+ people still came off in the end. Dont give up hope yet guys.

Hope so

About two hours from now, and it’s over for us (hopefully not)
