<p>Scores and grades are average for an asian female. If they see asian they automatically expect high grades and test scores. Although you had to take care of your mother, there is a complete lack of quality ECs. I see various dancing and a job as a secretary. Nothing on there shows a passion, and certainly not a passion for business. You could have started your own small business out of your home. Sure you may not have been able to do sports, but sports are not that impressive. Impressive ECs are typically done outside of school. Your scores are about average for the wharton applicant base, but your ECs absolutely kill you; there’s nothing even slightly interesting about them. So you had to take care of your mother at home. Ok, why not start a home-based business if you think you can handle wharton?</p>
<p>I do have a small business, it is the one that my father and I both started ( he just sort of went along with it) and it has a $250,000 turnover…</p>

<p>Wharton has about 10% chance of acceptance, and being an asian female from NY or NJ is the worst possible demographic if you want to get accepted. They’ll be expecting a whole lot more than some goofy native dancing and a laundry list of clubs joined late in HS. If that’s all it took for wharton the acceptance rate wouldn’t be 10%</p>
<p>If you had a successful small business with 250k turnover a year, you wouldn’t be working as a secretary for that many hours. I have a business with only $150,000 in sales for the past two years that I started by myself and have made around $50,000 off of it. I don’t have the time or the desire to work anywhere even if they paid $20, it’s just not worth it.</p>
<p>you know what? You are right. I don’t deny it. I knew joining a host of clubs is useless, but I have certain reasons for that I cannot disclose (not my mother).</p>

<p>but seriously, you are a mediocre applicant. But, there’s nothing you can change now. Your only chance is to write AMAZING essays. Being able to stand out here might compensate for your average EC’s.</p>
<p>You just don’t have the necessary math scores not even looking at anyone else. Sorry, but Wharton isn’t the kind of school that gives you a break because you had to take care of someone. They mean business. Try Harvard or Yale for touchy feely.</p>

<p>^^^^^No, penn is 19%, wharton is much more competitive. the rate is under 10% for wharton… You do know that you don’t just get to pick to go to wharton upon getting into penn. You apply to wharton.</p>
<p>Wharton is a reach for you. Though you may be able to raise your chances with an amazing essay. Don’t bother TOO MUCH time with the SATs, spend more time on the essay.</p>
