Which should I do this summer?
What would look better when applying for colleges? The Upward Bound Math/Science program at Chico State or taking a class at my local Community College?
At the community college I wanted to take calculus but it looks like it isn’t offered over the summer, so I’m not really sure what I would take. But regardless of what I would take, the class would count as a full class, instead of the peace-meal classes offered through the Upward Bound program. Furthermore, I would still be in the Upward Bound program; I just wouldn’t be participating in the summer program.
However, the Upward Bound program does apparently offer some type of research opportunity and other opportunities. However, the fact that i’d have to take part of a Physics class there, and part of a Calculus class there, and then repeat them the next year, does not seem enjoyable.
Does anybody have any experience with Upward Bound or has anything to contribute?
thanks
