Does it look good when i apply to UCLA.

huh?

Its A Program

yeah
there is a box where you can check for college prep programs and upward bound is one of them.

Gee, could you at least give us more details about it?

Yes, it looks good. Any type of enrichment program gives you an “postive mark” towards your application. It would be great (and I would if I were you) if you wrote about an rewarding activity in Upward Bound in your personal statement.

please
in your personal statement just throw in hardships and I am willing to bet you will get the supplement.

For those who do not know what it is, it is a enrichment program for students from low income families…i cant really explain the activities in the program because im starting this summer…those of you who were in upward bound what did you do…and thank you for those who answered my question…keep the answers coming!!!

well at my school they would meet every week for tutoring and they would pay them if they got good grades. They also took college trips and sleep over also, usually CSUs. The activities varied, it could be workshops in anything, like in simple physics or just “enriching” activities. Also in the summer they would stay over at a community college and take courses there.

OMG thanks…that really helped and i am so excited to start now…and they really pay you, thats amazing.Do you know where i can get more information about this because the site didnt tell me much.

Ducktape were you in upward bound?and another question…what percent of students that were in upward bound were accepted into UCLA?

[Upward Bound Program](Upward Bound Program)
This the only site I know unless you talk to your coordinator.

I was in it for a year and I think what they do varies by district. I really doubt that you will find a percentage of upward bound acceptees.
