Upward trend in grades

My score increased a LOT since 9th grade (I am an uprising senior)
How does Stanford consider an upward trend? Is it like HYP and have a belief that students should do well during ALL four years in high school? (this is what I heard)

Also, my college counselor told me that Stanford will see my mid-term report card during my senior year. (comes out at the end of January)
But does Stanford make judgements with the initial materials and don’t look at the Jan report when the initial materials aren’t very satisfying?

Thanks in advance :)

Im in the exact same boat as you. My freshman grades were disgusting but sophmore year i only had 1B and then Junior year, my hardest to date, i got straight A’s

I know stanford isnt exactly looking for works in progress but i would like to know if this is taken into consideration as well.

bump (10char)

Stanford does look for upward trends, in grades and in difficulty of courses taken.

I’ve heard such directly from an admissions officer.

Thanks, that’s great coz my gpa rose from 2.7 to 3.7 in 1.5 years and am taking IB full diploma :)

@Nitro Hawk: Let’s hope Stanford considers it as something quite significant ;)

Also note that Stanford doesn’t consider freshman grades in the admissions process.

^I am aware. But freshman grades will be on the transcript and the admission offciers won’t cover it up with their hands.
