Upward Trend in Transfer Admissions

I made bad grades my first year of college. They weren’t terrible, around 3.0, but far from desirable. However I’ve taken courses from the Harvard extension school and have had 3 semesters of straight A’s since, I suspect that this fall will make that 4. I’m wondering if I would still be competitive for the more selective transfer admissions such as Ivy League schools? I know that competitiveness depends on much more than GPA so I’m really asking if my one year of bad coursework would significantly hurt my application.

Has anyone had an experience like this?

Well, a 3.0 (anything lower than a 3.5) is going to dabilitate you from getting in. Also, the Harvard Extension School is not prestigious. I would suggest applying to a much less prestigious school than an ivy, and try to raise your overall GPA.
