Do top colleges totaly write you off if you have a couple of C’s?
How much does upward trend really matter? My fresh and Sophomore year I got quite a few Bs and maybe 3 Cs taking pretty much the hardest corseload offered. My Junior year I got my act together and have straight A’s in an even harder coursload. I should have all A’s my senior year too. Will the C’s of my past drastically effect my entire future?

depends on what school

upward trends are great, especially if you now have a good GPA. there are a few schools that dont look at your freshman gpa so that would help you if you did bad that year.

Write you off? Not really. Unless you have other things that make it up, you’ll be fine. Really, C’s don’t look good at all, but it does harm at a certain measure.

Upward trend? Better if you have one. It shows consistency and efford.

“Will the C’s of my past drastically effect my entire future?”
No. Drastically? Your entire future? C’mon. There are other factors besides grades that can look unique and good. But C’s generally don’t look good for top college adcoms.

Do you mean top 20 or top 100? First, your grades need to be put into context. What’s your class rank. Getting into a top 20 school, unless you have a hook (athlete, urm…) is unusual if you’re not in the top 10% of your class unless you go to an unusually hard high school (average SAT over 1350 old). Below top 20 a few Bs and Cs shouldn’t eliminate you but there was an article recently posted on the parent’s board in which a writer sitting in with the Middlebury adcoms reported tha6t dismissed applicants with a single C.
