Urban dictionary definition of MX

I looked up a few of the schools I’m thinking about applying to and look what came up when I searched “Middlesex School”!

a preppy prep school in concord massachusetts where rich kids pretend they’re not rich and poor kids pretend they’re rich. alot of drug use and alot of joking about being gay, which 60% of the school most likely is. 90% of the school owns ralph lauren polo shirts in at least 6 colors. the person wearing the brightest colors wins “best dressed”.
hey that kid’s wearing a pink shirt and lime green pants and light blue shoes, and pretending to anally rape his friend, he must go to middlesex school.

What the hell? I thought that MX was supposed to be a good place to be. This sounds awful. Another one from MX

Middlesex is a boarding school in concord, ma. with about an avarage clas size of 13, 350 students, and a 1:4 teacher student ratio, it is the premier small boarding school in America, and second overall only to Andover and Exeter. They regurally graduate both division one athletes, artists, and actors (including steve carrell and everying in between. the work is very hard, but students can get into any college they desire. However, there is a very large social divide between rich and poor. both the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor (on scholarship of course) attend, and the school is constantly trying to make the rich feel extremely guilty for attending such a school. most of the students have 2nd and 3rd homes in such preppy vacation spots as maine and Cape Cod. almost all are extremly preppy or old money, with venerable names and bank accounts to match. The students are anything but accepting, and almost everyone is “fake,” pretending to be nice and kind, while in fact gossiping and nitpicking about everyone and everything. on the whole, MXers, as they are called, are not very friendly or enjoyable people. they care very much about outward appearance, and overwhelmingly hate those who let it be known they are smart in any way.
Did you see that bean bag girl walk by?

yeah, she must go the middlesex school- she’s on her cell phone on her way to starbucks to edit her paper in peace.

This sounds awful. To people who go to MX; is this what MX is actually like? Because I’m really interested in MX and I need to know. Thanks.

where there’s smoke, there’s fire

I wouldn’t take Urban Dictionary too seriously. Have you read some of the stuff on there?

@bamagirl95,
I probably shouldn’t take it to seriously. It’s just two student’s experiences. However, that experience does not sound good if everyone acts the way that was described in that post. Can someone from MX come and tell me what if this actually true?

haha. Never use urban dictionary as a legitimate source. Never

I prefer the belmont hill one.

@hockeykid841,
I just read the definition of Belmont Hill. Hahaha it’s pretty funny. [Urban Dictionary: belmont hill](Urban Dictionary: belmont hill)

At least the one for MX wasn’t this bad hahaha.

people please dont belive what you read on urban dictionary those are written by people who got declined from those schools and there just mad becuase they didnt get in.

^or like the deerfield/choate ones go to the rival school. or live in the area.

^read the salisbury or avon ones its the same thing.

Trust me nothing about boarding school in urban dictionary is true it’s mostly wriitten by people who either got rejected from the school so they hate it or they were kids who were really mean so no one liked them so they hated the schools. Don’t worry about it

the woodberry forest one is pretty funny! Urban Dictionary: Woodberry;

i think the poor kids who pretend there rich thing is kinda true though, it happens at alot of HADES like schools.

^ Sorry but I feel like you don’t have the authority to state this since you don’t attend these different schools and haven’t lived on the campus and have met a majority of the FA students attending them.

i went to taft i think i would know.

But have you attended “alot of HADES like schools”?

Ok well whatever, I don’t want to argue. I was just trying to defend the FA students who don’t act rich and who could be stereotyped by the comment you made by other users on this board who do not have an insider’s perspective.

it’s definitely not true [i go to middlesex]. i’ve seen this before. there is perhaps a grain of truth in some of the statements, but i have a feeling that this definition was written by someone from a rival school, someone who was rejected, a townie with a bad experience, etc.

i go to middlesex as well. this is definitely not true…the school operates with the intent to make middlesex a ‘welcoming place for all’ and, although of course we are not perfect, mx is much closer to being a welcoming place for all than the urbandictionary definitions. there actually was an article in the school newspaper my sophomore year debunking these definitions and exploring why someone would write them

L.O.L. These definitions are hilarious! But they can’t be true. It doesn’t make sense – if it really was like that, everyone would drop out!!
