Urban Meyer- UF will miss you

If the stories about your health and your family are true, then hopefully you can take care of them both and, if it is your wish, you can move on to coach in the NFl. Thanks for your years at UF. It was a fun ride.

It’s a terrific lesson for all the kids he coached, showing where a man’s priorities should lie.

Not so fast! Looks like it may be a “leave of absence” after all…

To me this raises two questions about life: Is it better to have a successful national championship coaching career and suffer (probably) sever health consequences or to have a less successful career but have good health? Also, would so many people care about Meyer if his team was at the bottom rather than the top?

^^^ His full name is Urban Meyer III, so I guess his family has gotten that question about the name a time or 2 before…

*** edit** looks like you edited your post, razorsharp, and removed the comment about his name…

Taking a leave of absence is puzzling. I thought it would be hard for any QB to follow in Tebow’s footsteps with Meyer, given how close those two are. But now, how do they get someone to step into Meyer’s footsteps, knowing it’s only going to be for one year?

I wondered whether the change to leave of absence is just a way to keep him around for recruiting purposes.
