<p>I believe there will be a “W” for withdrawal (I did that too for a freshman math class)… it will be on your transcript and show that you did not complete a class. But you should make sure that the paperwork goes through and the professor doesn’t just give you an F. Did you already get the paperwork from Murphy Hall and get your professor to sign? They should be able to tell you what kind of notation you’ll get at this point.</p>
<p>I’m not sure how med school committees will view it. I guess the obvious answer is that it depends on the context of the rest of your application and when the drop occurred (required class for major, were you overloaded, personal situation, first year, etc).</p>
