<p>Michigan is not as prestigious as the others.</p>
<p>The University of Chicago is very well known in the academia and among the intellects in China way before the UChicago Center in Beijing was opened in 2010. There were at least three Chinese graduate students of UChicago (Chen Ning Yang , Tsung-Dao Lee and Daniel Tsui) who later became Nobel Laureate in Physics in 1957, 1957 and 1998 respectively. These world famous scientists are considered national pride in their native country.</p>

<p>Agreed, but its no Ivy or UChicago. Maybe a good safety school if you’re from MI though. If you don’t get into an IVY or Chicago, you can always go with Michigan. Also, if you’re instate, it would be a less expensive option which I generally recommend.</p>
