URGENT: Has anyone used direttextbook.com?

I have found directtextbook.com online bookstore that searches 30+ sites for best prices.

Anyone use it before?? Need to know if it’s not scam site.

Thanks in advance!

Use alibris.com or textbooks.com if you are too worried to experiment. I do, and it seems like I am getting pretty good deals.

Thank you. Alibris.com was one of the sites directtextbook.com recommended and I was wondering about it.

I was also wondering about abebooks.com?

I’ve just done their sample search on Macionis’s book. The listed booksellers I’ve used successfully for cheap books are:

Alibris
Valore Books
Amazon
Amazon Marketplace
Abebooks
eCampus Marketplace
Powells
Barnes & Noble

There is no bookseller that showed up in that listing that I’ve had bad experiences with; the ones that didn’t make the list above are ones I haven’t used.

If this is for a class starting now or very soon, I would pay attention to what kind of shipping is being used. Anything that might use Media Mail (which includes, for example, Powells’ cheapest option the last time I shopped there and Amazon Marketplace’s Standard Shipping) should be avoided. It can be very slow. On the other hand, even though the US Mail is kind of problematic around here, Priority Mail has been good to me. You’re going to want to pay close attention to how long sellers have to send things out and how long they estimate items will take to get to you. Assume that things are going to arrive on the last day of the estimate: if that’s not too late then that option probably makes sense. In most cases things will arrive more quickly, but not in all.
