Urgent!! How to bribe teachers??

So, semester ends January 25th. I have around a 76% in my unweighted Alg II class.

I’m studying my brains out, but this class is just killing me. This is the first year I’ve gotten below an A in math.

Anyone have any(serious) tips on how to get this teacher to round up my grade if I can’t make it to a B? On his course policy he says he “reserves the right to round up grades” for kids that show “effort” …

I’m panicking!

For my teachers, they often round up grades for students that participate and come in after class for help. I’d suggest doing so if you aren’t already asap.

Show effort. Go through the book. Do every problem till u do em perfectly.

and ask questions. and nod your head a lot (if you understand) and say ‘ohhhhhhh now i get it THANK YOU!’ very enthusiastically.

go to extra help, but make sure that you know what to ask. teachers hate it when you go to extra help and just tell them “teach me”.

make it CLEAR to the teacher that you’re actually studying your brains out - like show him the HW you do by saying that you need help on a question, and flip through your entire notebook while going to that question so that he sees all the other work you’ve done, or (if you buy textbooks) then somehow get him to see how much you’ve highlited it up…or something else like that lol, AND then ask for tips…extra help…asking questions in class…all of those things show them that you’re motivated to do well…and since teachers (or most of 'em anyways) love motivated kiddos, then that might make your teacher more sympathetic while he’s deciding your grade…

hope i made some sense <highly unlikely=“”>…lol</highly>

Be honest with your teacher. Go talk to them and ask what you can do to raise your grade. Teachers respond to up front and honest students.

I agree with that. Just dont be annoying or really talkative in class, esp if you are in a morning class. Then maybe buying the teacher a nice X-mas present…nothing too expensive though…:)

You can always turn to a life of crime.

…as soon as I saw “bribing” my thoughts immediately went south. Dearie, it’s not bribing you should be doing. it’s talking, along with any counselor your school has. Of course, if you were actually looking towards the southward thinkings…wellll…;)

Hurry, quick. Spots in the mafia are filling up fast. Remember, your application essays about crime and how it has shaped your character is very important; it could make or break your legs.

hahahahahahahahah. be sure to mention what “wiles” you have, and any experience with cyber-terrorism :-P

Food. Dark chocolate for women, cookies for men. Lady math teachers will take Hershey’s, but english teachers go for Lindt. You must make it known that the cookies are handmade and that you are incredibly disapointed in the result. Chocolate chip and snickerdoodles are good.

sugar cookies with snowman frosting. or pi’s, if it’s math.

Tell the math teacher that they are the first teacher that actually made you understand and appreciate math. Tell them that they are the only teacher that explains it well even if you don’t understand. I said that to my precalc teacher once and my grade went up 3 points although he may have just curved all the grades…he didn’t mention if he did (But its still worth a try!)

If you have a 76%, you have it because you earned it. And don’t even blame your fuc king acne on your grades.

Or you can just try your best and accept the grade you get. Math is a subject where you get it or you don’t. Its not all nice and subjective like english and humanities. There is an answer and there is an elegant and optimal method to get to the answer. Either you got it or you don’t.

This is post #999.

i Have a 77 for my final grade this nine weeks… I kept begging her too give me a 82 since i made a 85 last nine weeks and my semester grade be a 84(B). She gave me a 80 with a little bit of work to do… I just made a 90 on my spanish exam making my grade a 83.5 =)!!! which rounds up to a 84 hECKKK YES

I dislike bumping up old threads as much as the next person, but I’m just curious as to why this is pinned on the front page. You’ve got your inspirational posts and helpful college tips, and then this?
