URGENT! I messed up my supplemental application!!!

Oh my god.

So I was stupid enough not to check the Loyola Marymount U supplemental requirements page, where, for their optional film portfolio, they said submit a creative resume and one film. I submitted 5 films. It had an option for 5 supplementals, and it never specified ON the actual submission website what I was supposed to do, so I submitted 5 short films of mine.

Dang. It.

How do you guys think that’ll affect my application? I’ve been stressing over this so much. It IS a competitive program to get into, so I’m really worried…

Contact admissions (call if possible, rather than email), explain what happened, and ask how to address it. Decide which one of your films you would like to submit and ask for instructions on how to go about that, if needed.

Many kids are panicking about mistakes like yours. Since you sent 5 I suppose they’ll only look at one. So many kids are sending emails to correct mistakes but yours is not so bad. First, you’ve made 5 films worthy of sending, so that’s good! Second, clogging their email with an apology may draw more attention to it. Unless you think it’s a fatal error, don’t stress about 5 films. I’d be more concerned that you didn’t send the creative resume. If you have a lot to say on that, please consider writing to admissions to ask for advice. Before you do anything, however, check in with your school counselor and ask for advice. Best of luck to you!

@Isabel2017 @mamag2855 What’s unfortunate is that they’ve already reviewed my application… guess we’re just going to have to wait and see. They send out decisions before the 20th. Oh boy…

ok, well, no need to worry! What’s done is done and it’s not fatal by any stretch. Perhaps they’ll see it as A true commitment to the field. Time to pray for peace with whatever decision you get. All the best to you, whatever happens!

If it was me, I would call and speak to your admissions counselor. They will tell you how to proceed and ease your mind. An email would work too, but with the late hour, calling may be best.
