Dear all,

In my country, they have applied a new rule for funding applications of students. They only accept 2! universities. For students who want to go to the US, and especially for the one who are aiming at top universities, this is very difficult.
I applied to four universities, including Stanford and CMU. I’m studying CS, so this are really good universities in my area. I was accepted to all of them, but I choose for CMU and declined all the others (there are several reasons for this, but that’s not important for my question). For several reasons, my two choices where UCLA and Stanford when I applied for the funding, but I also put the other universities on the list with an explanation about VS.
However, the result is that I will get the money if I attend UCLA or Stanford, but not if I want to go to CMU.

So I already got letters from my professor stating that CMU is the best choice, and also some other people helping me. But to make my statement better, I like to have some proof that it is normal that when you apply for a master in the US, you apply at multiple universities… And also that is very unpredictable. and I believe not in the best interest of students to restrict the choice to 2 universities. Thanks…
