[Urgent!!!] Phase I or II?

I'm signing up classes tomorrow at CalSO, I've asked a lot of people and none of them gave me an answer for what classes I should phase I for. So here's my schedule:

Math 1A (pre-req for econ/stats)
Japanese 1A (requirement for Japanese minor)
German R5A (R&C requirement)
Music 140 (breadth)

A lot of them said that because usually language classes filled up very quickly, I should probably phase one it. However, because German R5A is very popular classes and Math 1A is one of the most important pre-req for my majors... whatever, I just don't know how to make the right decision.

Which class is the easiest to get out of the wait-list?

Japanese 1A and German R5A because both of them are small and popular courses. There will be dropouts in Math 1A so don't freak out even if they get filled before your phase II.

So if I got waitlisted, I'll still go to both the lectures AND the discussion section until I get off from the waitlist?

However, I looked at one of the old post and someone said:

"I think for language classes, it doesn't matter what your number is on the waitlists, because you have to attend the classes and then the teachers decide who gets to stay, because it's so competative to get in. [At least this is the case for Chinese/Japanese]

Thus, there is no incentive for people to Phase I it."

Considering that Japanese is indeed one of the most popular foreign language class in Berkeley, it is likely that those who are enrolled and waitlisted will attend every class in the beginning of the semester. Obviously, the instructor has no choice but to drop those waitlisted students sooner or later even though they attended on daily basis. As for your Math 1A class, you can still go to both lectures and the discussion section you want. If nobody drops out, send an e-mail to Babara Peavy (the math department advisor who is a really nice person) and she will enroll you in whichever section you requested for.

That makes sense. Thank you so much for your help!!!!!!
