What can I upload for the optional information part? It says that most people won’t use that part, but I was thinking should I upload my parents tax forms to show that I am low-income, or can I submit a ~500 word essay explaining my economic disadvantages? Will this work or hurt me?

Please someone answer?

I wanna know tooo

It probably won’t hurt you but I don’t know how much it will help you. I think that if you attempted to upload tax forms it might just seem like you didn’t understand the directions. I would submit the essay if I submitted anything, but keep it much shorter than 500 words. I would say that five or six sentences is enough to explain that you are low-income. That’s it. They’ve already read 4 essays (well, essentially) and another piece of information to process is probably too much.

I would use that information for unusual circumstances. As an example, you moved during the school year from one state to another and the two schools that you attended used different grading schemes. If you were ill during the time that you were in school, I would mention that. If your economic disadvantage resulted in you having to work many hours in order to support your family, I would mention that as well.
Good luck!
