Hi, everybody. This is my very urgent question (sorry I have created another thread but that is a mistake)

A couple of weeks ago, I registered for the 3 SAT II subject tests(MathI,IIC,US His) on Oct 14th. I’ve been toiling at the US His recently, which is excessively tough for international students like me. So, now I just want to take Math IC n US History on Oct 14th (Math IIC will be for Dec test date). What must I do to inform CB of this ? And if I don’t take Math IIC this Oct, how 'bout the fee I’ve paid for it? I heard that if you don’t take the test you registered on the test date, you will get score 0 ? Is that true?

Thanks in advance.I’m lookin’ forward to your responses :)

You can take whatever tests you want on test day, but if you take fewer than you paid for, you just lose the fee for the untaken test. This info is on the official CB site, btw.

Thanks Futureprof for your response ;). But beats me why I can’t understand the following words I read in the SAT reg booklet:

“If you erase or leave blank all answers to an individual Subject test, it will be considered a cancellation, and scores from all tests taken that day will be cancelled”

Does it mean that if I registered for one subject and don’t take it on the test day, the remaining two I take will not be scored, too ? Hence, someone on this board said not taking your registered test on the test day and you will recieve a 200 ? Please help me clarify this, I’m panicked already :(

Yeah, I think it is considered a cancellation (I’m going through the same thing) but I’m going to call up the CollegeBoard tomorrow (212) 713-8000 and just ask them to change it. It shouldn’t be a big deal because you’re not changing the test center or test, just individual ones.

Hope that helped.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I called the CollegeBoard today and they said that you can change your tests on test day. Even if you’re signed up for Chemistry instead of US History and you don’t want to take Chemistry, just show up a little bit earlier and tell your proctor about your test change(s). If you add another test it’s $8 more. If you want to be safe, call them up 866-756-7346 (the number I gave you before was just the CollegeBoard main section, this is for registration and stuff) and tell them to change it, but they’ll charge you a lot more. I’d personally do that on the safe side but it’s up to you. :)

Sorry for giving you the wrong information earlier.

Whoa, thanks a ton. My internet connection sucked so much that I couldn’t access the internet these days.
Is it really necessary for me to call them? Because I’m an international student, and it’ll cost me about 20$ to make a phone call from my country to the US. So if I want to drop Math IIC (which I registered), all I need to do is just tell the proctors on the test day, rite ? Should I email to notify CB of this? Honestly speaking, I’m all confused right now. Also, is it false that if you don’t take your registered test, you will get a 200 ?
Thanks once again for your help :)

you don’t really need to make a phone call, you can just change it on test day. but if i were you, i’d just call them to be safe. just tell the proctors on test day what tests you’re gonna take and you will not get a 200 if you don’t take your registered test. the thing about the cancellation of scores only applies to SAT I as well (forgot to mention that before).
