what happens if you dont show up for the SAT? i am taking it tomorrow but i dont know if i really want to or need to. I already applied to my 1st choice school and many others. i dont know if i can sent my scores in later. i know for my 1st choice, since i applied with a scholarship, i had to send all my stuff including score by nov 1st. So i dont see the point of taking the SAT again. This would be the fourth time taking it but i only send 2 scores to my schools, so they only think i took it twice.
I think you’re fine if you don’t want to take it a fourth time. But, don’t fool yourself that you will get into your first-choice school (hopefully you do!), or that a school will ‘think’ you only took the SAT twice just because you only sent them two scores. They know you could take it several more times.
What do you mean you ‘applied with a scholarship’?
oh trust me i have major doubts on whether i will get into my first-choice school but it is a match school. There were some school specific scholarships that you could apply to with your application to the college itself. you just had to write an extra essay.
how would they know that i did take it?
What would happen if i just dont show up for the SAT?
Some schools will consider scores that you send them after you apply - you should contact the specific schools you applied to to find out what their specific answer is.
Nothing happens if you just don’t show up to an SAT test you’ve registered for. My son did that after we decided his first scores were sufficient and he hadn’t done any studying since that first test so had a reasonable chance of scoring worse.
And to answer your question “how would they know that I did take it?” - they don’t know that you did take it, they know that you had the opportunity to take it more times than indicated by the scores you sent them. They know that students can selectively send scores.
^ yes, that’s much more clearly worded @adlgel. Thank you.
oh okay thank you
