*URGENT* | Register tomorrow or take tests a month later?

Hey,

I’m freaking out. I haven’t attempted the Writing section yet, but I don’t think it should be particularly hard to study for. Having said that, my scores for the other two sections in practice tests using the Blue Book are between 650 and 720. I’m aiming for at least 750 (preferably more) on each section. Last two tests for CR were 720 and 700. For math, I scored 650-680 on the 3 tests I took.

I’ve delayed registering for the test as far as I can. I’m not very confident that I’ll be able to achieve this goal in time. I’m at a total loss here. Am I being completely unrealistic with that goal? (i.e, scoring 750 or more within a month, when currently, I’m at 650-720)

I’ll also be taking the subject tests. I planned on taking them in November but I may have to take them in December now.

Taking the tests in Oct and Nov mean that I can apply ED to my college of choice. Taking the respective tests a month later, however, means that I will have more study time.

But then I don’t know if I’ll get bored or burn out after 2 months after studying. I do know that I could use the extra time for the subject tests but I’m not entirely certain about the reasoning tests.

Some EA/ED schools won’t require my having subject tests, although they would be “highly recommended”. So, I could still apply ED to my dream school and hope I get in with my scores from the reasoning test alone. OR, take the reasoning test in Nov, then subject tests in December, bearing in mind that I’d have to study for both sets of exams throughout September and October. OR I could take the reasoning test in Oct, still apply ED and take the subject tests in December.

I should also point out that I’ve had some average semesters (mostly Cs) but I do have an upward trend in my grades. (excellent —> average/bad —> good) So, perhaps waiting until I’m confident I can have great scores on the subject tests would be a good idea?

Please help me out. The deadline is in a few hours. I really can’t think straight…

I’d appreciate any help. At this rate, I think I should just man up and pick something but ARGH!

Register for the test. Keep your options open.

You can always decide not to take the test. The registration fee in the grand scheme of things is minor.

Thank you Fogcity. You bring up a fair point. I hadn’t realised I could still not take the test. (:$)

Done registering. Will post here and/or the relevant thread when I get my scores.
