I’m applying to 5 summer programs. I’ve already sent the apps for RSI and Simons, and apps for Clark and SSP are due soon. One of my recommenders has written a general letter for RSI and Simons but is too busy to write letters in the specific format required for Clark and SSP. In my opinion it’s way too much to ask, as I go to a huge school and this teacher teaches 7 classes and has already had to write many college app recommendations for seniors. Should I just ask this teacher to email the same letter to these programs (rather than writing answers to the specific questions they want recommenders to answer)?
I’m actually pretty set on doing this, so I was mainly wondering if I should contact the program admissions committees with an explanation (preferably in an “additional information” section of the application but through an email if necessary).
I have 2 other recommenders for each program application (teacher who has already completed them, and research supervisor).
