I have been admitted to the Faculty of Science for both the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia. Which one should I choose? I am hoping to go into pharmacy or medicine, but I’m afraid the competition is too much at UBC. However, my father is going to live near Vancouver, so I will be able to see him during the weekends if I go to UBC. I have a conditional scholarship at the U of A though, so that will make it easier financial-wise. My biggest concern is that I won’t be able to get into UBC med school. What should I choose?
I also heard that the U of A medical school gives you more hands-on experience (this is more important to me than research, though I’m not ruling out research as an option). Is this true?
