Urgent-Which summer art program to choose?

BARRING TUITION COSTS, which summer art program should I choose?
I won a gold key for the scholastics art awards, and I’m eligible for a scholarship for a summer art program.
Below are my choices, some are great programs, others are not well known. I would love to get some insight on these programs, in terms of quality and rigorousness. I would especially love input from students who’ve attended any of these programs! I would also love to know of any programs not on this list that but very good and well known.

Congratulations on your fine achievement!

My D attended RISD Precollege and LOVED it. Didn’t want to leave and came away with some great portfolio pieces.

Any precollege program that offers an intensive studio experience should be fine - the thing we liked about RISD was that it was six weeks duration - long enough for her to get REALLY sick of it if art school was NOT for her (she didn’t and it is - and now we know that). The only disadvantage is that it’s pretty expensive - almost $8,000 last year. Still, if you have a scholarship that has to help quite a bit.

Good luck with your decision!

Ringling College of Art and Design pre-college, Sarasota FL. Pick two areas of study.
4 weeks duration. Great experience! Rigorous.Fun but intensive. Must be at least 16.

Ok, so I didn’t know getting a gold key at that event meant getting money towards a precollege program. I was going to apply for atleast 5 or 7 pre college programs anyway.

How much money does the gold key award give us for pre college programs?

I used to live in Montclair and the Montclair Art Museum is most likely a much smaller program than many of the other listed.

What type of art do you want to study?

Do you need room and board? Some of these programs will offer that, others not. Even if you can arrange for housing, it would be an easier process if the program offered student housing (even if it at your won expense.) Also do any of the programs affiliated with a college you’d be interested in attending? I would take advantage of the opportunity to test the waters of a college program you are considering if you have the opportunity.

@lilq10‌ Scholastic has something called ASAP awards for low income regional gold key winners to attend summer programs. Look it up at artandwriting.org.
