Does being a URM increase your chances of getting more money from college than a person who is not a URM?? If that’s true, how much does it increase your chances?

Please remember that URM status all by itself is not a hook. If you are an extremely “attractive” applicant (which means you have a whole lot more going for you than just URM status) you might receive better offers at merit-based schools. Check PrincetonReview.com for schools where minority status is important. At need-based schools it will probably not affect your initial offer, but may positively influence your negotiation. It’s impossible to say how much more money you would get because of your URM status. Totally depends on the schools and your “desirability” as an applicant.
