Relatively good chances at HY, great shot at gtown

Considering how you’re an URM, you have a great shot at every university except Harvard. Georgetown = Match. Yale = Slight Reach.

lol how in the world are Harvard and Yale different in terms of admissions? I agree with mj.

You have okay chances at the HY, but people overestimate the influence of URM status.

yes , i agree that URM’s are overestimated, but since i can use it as an advantage, i will…

You will probably get into every school. White people get into HYP with those stats, and you’re an URM. You’re statistics are also well above the average of most URMs who go to HYP. As long as you don’t write an essay about the pleasures of sticking pins into small furry animals you should get in everywhere. Just my 2 cents.

Harvard/Yale/Princeton are a stretch. Same with a lot of west coast schools that already have huge amounts of hispanics to draw from. But they’re all definitely possible. Don’t let people trick you into overplaying URM status, especially because you haven’t demonstrated how it affects your identity at all through anything.

^^^^^
He’s above the average for all URMS and he is class president. He is one of like 40 urms in the nation with his credentials and a class president if there are even that many with that combo. And on top of it all he is a first generation.

haha wow laxchamp, you’re really underestimating minorities! it does help, yeah, but there are plennnty of qualified URMs! i agree w/ kyledavid

“-First Generation to assist college”

From another thread by the OP:
"one of my brothers went to Harvard though, and my mother went to Georgetown… "

There are other inconsistencies too, one thread where he says he has 2400, 800, 800, 800 SATs.

■■■■■

on 4/29 OP wrote

when asked how bad Op responded:

In addition, Op is an international student so unless s/he is from mexico, s/he would not be considered a URM,
