Can you give more information about your situation? Are you a permanent US resident (‘green card’ holder)? If the answer is “yes”, you might be able to start your application for US citizenship 4.5 yrs after the date of adjustment of your status. However, the processing time for your citizenship application will depend on many factors. Right now, BCIS is jammed with applications due to a wave of applicants rushing to submit their paperwork before the astronomical increases of the application fees.

I am not a permanent resident. As a matter of fact, I haven’t even stepped into US :)

I found this basic information from the U.S. Department of State:

<a href=“404 - Page Not Found”>404 - Page Not Found;

And on that page, click on the first blue link for Visas for Immigrants. I saw some different things, including a “Diversity” program, some special skill categories, things for Iraqis and so forth. Maybe it will help if you happen to be one of these special categories. At least it’s a place to start.

Some people get married to become citizens but sometimes the results are a disaster.

Thank you for the link, paying3tuitions!

Disaster? As in?

BTW Congratulations on your 2400 post! You now have a perfect SAT score :)

OK, that’s a bit more info. Here is the website for you:

I am not familiar with the services of this immigration attorney and do not endorse his services in any way, but his site has a lot of links that you might find useful:
