US Dept of Energy Solar Decathlon entries on the Mall

<p>If anyone is in the Washington, DC area from Oct. 4-17, you may want to check out the 20 houses that are entered into this year’s Solar Decathlon competition. They will be displayed on the Mall during that time and many are open for touring. Pretty cool to see what was designed by very talented architect students/profs from such US universities as Cornell, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Rice, as well as international entries from Germany and Spain. </p>

<p>Virginia Tech’s entry, “Lumenhaus”, is the most amazing thing my son has ever seen. I couldn’t get a word in edgewise when he was talking about it to us. (this is a rare thing for that boy to talk at length about anything :slight_smile: so I know it had to have been quite a big deal!) </p>

<p>Anyway, I thought I would pass this info on so you could check them all out if you can.</p>
