I think it’s a good thing. Our country seems to be going through an ‘identity crisis’ where we are questioning our democratic ideals/institutions. In my opinion an important step, in addressing the concerns of many, is to embrace our diverse ethnic heritage. Our institutions should represent all Americans…legal immigrants, 1st generation/2nd generation/etc Americans.

Here’s another article I saw on the new Liberty Coin Series. It says there will be future coins representing Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Indian-Americans and more…whatever that means.

And one more thing…perhaps generations from now we won’t be using ‘hyphenated American’ descriptors.
