British News is quite impartial compared to US News. Of course, that is because Impartiality is close to (classical) Liberalism, and (modern) Republicanism (or rather, the “policy of the Republican Party”) is … let us say, something of which the otherwise sane person’s fathoming requires an intrinsic web of conveniently uninformed faiths.

BBC is/was typically the place for condemnation of Bush (for those of you who don’t frequent non-US sources, there were a few clips of this in Fahrenheit 9/11) and now the Guardian has made what I think is its first unreserved hit at McCain.

[Oliver Burkeman’s Campaign Diary: New McCain ad caught in a web of untruths | World news | guardian.co.uk](Republican ad succeeds where large hadron collider failed | US elections 2008 | The Guardian)

So, while * people claiming to be * almost half of the US populace continue to resist sensible enlightenment, with a disgraced interpretation of Christianity similar to the latest editions of Islam (this comparison is not fair as it ignores those who have subtle belief systems), when will we cast off this nonsense? The US Media was stronger a long time ago (a decade is a long time to me) but now it does not merely seem pathetic - is it corrupted?

Why are there so many “commentators” on US News entities?
If it is already saturated with opinion, why do those entities then proceed to avoid condemning parties and companies? If the Dems/Cons do crap, then why hold back the nitpicking of flaws on the regular headlines?
Isn’t investigative journalism concerned with finding out facts and producing a bold and unambiguous presentation?

So the main questions are - Why is impartial US news so timid?
and - Why is the bold US programming so lacking in veracity?

Attempting to compare in-house discussion at MSNBC, FOX or often CNN to something like BBC’s Hardtalk, Doha or that thing with the seven journalists at the oval table is almost unfair.

Edit: C-Span is a duly acknowledged exception.
