Us news rankings 2011

^see your MD promptly. ;)

"I mean, this is representative for most people?? OOOOK. No bias there. "

unbiased doesnt exist.

Anyone who thinks it does does not work in a field involving survey research. Or any quantitative social science, I daresay.

Some would, on that basis, eliminate any quantitative discussion that is not part of the natural sciences.

I am not sure how someone who held such views though, could consider ANY university that spends a considerable effort on quantitative research in the social sciences to be a quality insitution ;)

Time for Cornell to join the Big Ten!! lol

Not surprised though at all…the rankings in no way account for our specialized schools, so naturally we get ****ed for that.

I think GWU should move up. Not to be biased, but I am surprised that GWU has not broken 50. The acceptance rate is lower than ever before, yet the class profile is more impressive.

If Notre Dame eventually edges past an Ivy, the folks in South Bend will be even more insufferable than they already are. Don’t let this happen, Cornell!

columbia!!! yezzz!!!
i couldnt be more proud as an incoming freshman for the class of '14
(especially coming from a place where the usnews rankings are considered the final word in all rankings!!!)

also…
About time!! (although i was a bit surprised were ranked above stanford - but not complaining at all! )

If ND ever moves past Cornell… Suck it Secular Humanism, Go Irish Go!

But seriously, if we move past an Ivy I’d like to hear people finally stop saying OMG How the $%$% could you pick ND over (insert ivy here). It’s obviously nowhere near as good and you’re ■■■■■■■■ for even saying that.

Every college is unique and provides qualities that are more appealing to some than others.

I don’t see how Columbia could overtake Stanford though which makes the above list invalid. In exactly what measures besides the 4-year graduation rate does Columbia outperform Stanford?

Thanks a lot!

The spots are: Columbia (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high), Brown (waaaaaaay too high), Virginia (waay too high), UPenn (too high), Northwestern (too high), Duke (too high), MIT (waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too low), Caltech (waaaaaaaaaaaay too low), Stanford (waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too low), and of course, Berkeley (w(a^60)y too low).
I still cant belive Dartmouth got shut out of the top 10 again. by one point. To a BIG TEN school.

My guess is the devaluation of Peer Assessment and inclusion of Guidance Counselors ratings with the higher weighting on grad rates…

^^ How about Ohio State & Michigan State U…?!.. thanx!! …

No UT-Austin or University of Florida in the top 50? Hmmmm. Nice to see Tulane move up a few spots, even though it’s still underrated.

Bahrain, if possible, could you please post the peer assessment and guidance counselor ratings? Thanks!

Did Fordham break top 60 yet?

51-75 please?

Thanks!
