Anyone know when they’re coming out? I really hope that Cornell rises, as our endowment is bigger, our acceptance rate is smaller and the caliber of our students is higher.

We probably won’t go up significantly, at least not for a few years as the stats they use are a few years old. USNews rankings come out in mid-August, I believe, just in time for the new batch of Seniors starting to look at colleges.

oh, so the stats are not up to date.

I think they’re 1 or 2 years old?

that’s ■■■■■■■■. US News might as well put out the 2005 rankings this year, and say “this is what your school was ranked when you decided to go there”. Hopefully, Mercury
your class was pretty good, and then we should remain stable or go up, perhaps 10-11-12.

August 18th, move in day.

Wow, interesting. Source?

some kid on auto admit .com

I heard early August. But the real question is when is it going to get leaked onto CC???

Yeah, last year I think someone got a leaked version and released it on CC.

Cornell is apparently in the midst of a $3 billion campaign. I read this on the cornell library website.

So apparently someone on CC got a copy of the rankings ahead of time…he provided photo evidence and is a frequent/trustworthy poster.

If he’s correct, Cornell moved up 1 spot to 12.

Ah ha. Well that’s a good news.
I think this year’s rating makes more sense than last year’s. When I read that Duke and UPenn were ahead of MIT and Stanford I was like “Dubya Tee Eff??”

And Cornell’s peer review score remains ahead of Dartmouth, Duke, Penn and Brown.

Next movement upward into top 10 will have to wait until next year when this year’s admit numbers are factored in.

I like!

I also like the fact that Penn is not #4. These rankings seem a bit more realistic than they were last year.

Good thing, because the fake leak that came on cc a few days ago had cornell at 15…but also penn at 3 and some other wackies…with jhu in front of cornell and the ties weren’t in alphabetical order.

JHU moved down on this one a pretty good amount, wow. And WUSTL isn’t as high anymore…I hadn’t heard of it besides for it being ranked high (And I really don’t know why…probably because I’m not near it). LOL and caltech and MIT are tied! That’s a good rivalry! (and the rankings are for 2005 this year I’m pretty sure…because last rankings were 2004 I think). Chicago PLUS SIX! WOW

But go Cornell!

wo it says cornell is 11th in business

“Schools that had major features about them–UCLA, Cornell U, and Liberty U!”

Woah! That makes me want to go to the book store and check out the freature. Go Cornell!

O and Cornell is 10th in sjtu US rankings

Sounds pretty reasonable.

Mark my words: Cornell will be in the top ten within the next two years (and it well should be).

I was actually expecting a bigger jump this year (maybe ahead of Chicago and on par with Dartmouth/Columbia). No worries though, our time will come.
