US soccer team gets incredibly lucky

in order to advance to confederations cup semifinals, the US had to beat Egypt by at least 3 pts and Brazil had to beat Italy by the same margin

that happened…how weird is that?

IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN almost.

I didn’t see the whole match but Davies’ goal was a complete fluke.

And why isn’t Italy advancing? They have the same -2 goal margin as us and beat us head-to-head.

I know that was awesome…pretty much knew Brazil would beat Italy, but who knew it would all work out so well for the US.

holy hell, it actually HAPPENED???

I know right… If someone asked me before the tournament what the chances of U.S. advancing in expense of Italy and Egypt were, I would be like ZERO. After Egypt lost 3-4 to Brazil and won against Italy – I would be even more confident… But I guess Egypt just relaxed way too much against the U.S. and Zidan’s absence didn’t help. Italy isn’t advancing because it scored one goal less – three as opposed to U.S.’ four. If points and goal differences are the same, the team with highest number of scored goals advances.
