<p>I didn’t see any evidence that students are turning down Ivies to go to Edinburgh. It may be that Edinburgh is getting some very strong U.S. students, but the competition for admission top U.S. colleges is the fiercest it has ever been, so it may be that those students weren’t even admitted to Ivies. They also may be students who have great stats, no ECs, so the best that they can do is go to a top foreign university since such universities care only about the stats.</p>
<p>So the snub is that they didn’t apply to Ivies?</p>
