USA June 2011 SAT Critical Reading Thread

It was moralistic. They were not acting based on their whims. They made a calculated decision because they wanted to protect the children. (both selectors and censors even though censors excluded.) They excluded because they thought it was the right thing to do.

Although the author made a distinction between their methods, each group was trying to achieve similar goals for a similar reason.

you are right but wrong. The question asked censors who did act somewhat irrationally therefore emotional. But we will find out. I am at -2 to -4 depending on this and another question go. I omitted two vocab. We will see on Thursday. Hopefully a 750

no you’re wrong it’s definitely moralistic. the censors werent banning books on radical emotional impulses they made rational decisions that followed their own personal morals because they thought these books were bad

Yep, its 100% moralistic. The passage was based on deciding what is right and what is wrong, which is what morals are about.

@the two post above, you may very well be correct. However my argument is that the author of passage two made a distinction between censors and selectors. The selectors were the moralistic ones and censors were not. Censors was acting more on the irrational side hence emotional. We will see once the QAS comes out

Is there really any point arguing this anymore? The scores come out in 19 hours, I think it’s possible for everyone to wait a little bit longer…

Omg this is soooo intense

Is -4 still a 740 or higher?

4 wrong would be about a 750 but -4 raw would be like a 770

Does anyone know when we will see the answers for each question? I don’t think they’re released with the scores are they?

shaggy its like more than a month after, idiot

Tons of people here got -1 -2 or -0. -2=790 most likely

I got a 690 for this, so I’m guessing it’s like -9?

I got an 800 and said “moralistic” and “favorite books”
