For the moralistic question, was emotional another option?

Yes, emotional was another option. I picked moralistic.

shyams
you retook a 2380? nice

why didn’t emotional work?

emotions would imply that they were PMSing or something (which most censors are)

but they were clearing doing it because of what they thought was right and wrong (moralistic)

also what is 4-5 wrong?

http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf
so anywhere between a 770 and 720

It was noncontroversial books. Can we move on to other debated questions?

is there any consensus on the moralistic vs emotional question. I put emotional because I remembered the question referred to censors and not selectors. Censors according to passage was basing their thing on emotional and selectors was basing their thing on morals. I could be wrong though

It’s definitely moralistic. So far i’m -0 on the section, and I am pretty sure it was favorite books and not non-controversial. I wouldn’t have said that unless there was a line that led me to think that they had to replace their favorite books with ones that passed the censor.

actually there was. It was along the lines of " teachers wanted to avoid controversial books and therefore censor things to make it uncontroversial" It is not the exact thing but there was a line that was like that

^ Yes. The passage said that the teachers became self-selecting ie. they purposely avoided controversial books so that they wouldn’t get in trouble.

2 days ahhhhhhhhhh!

are the CC consolidated lists/consensuses almost always 100% accurate for CR? Because I’m -2 right now for CR and one more would be the tipping point

I just wanted to know the moralistic vs emotional question. that is only one i am not sure about

It is moralistic because the censors felt that bad books were bad for kids because they were bad. Therefore they rejected them because they felt it was morally wrong to be feeding kids malicious books.

Consolidated answers are usually correct, but CR is probably the exception. Those questions are pretty subjective. I’m also at -2, and I really hope none of the rest of my answers are wrong.

However here is my reasoning for putting emotional. The questions was referring to passage two. The author of passage two MADE a distinction of selectors(moralistic) and censors. Since this passage asked for censors, I thought it must not have included the selectors who were the moralistic kind. That’s why I felt emotional was more correct. In hindsight, you could just go off the first paragraph and say that censors were moralistic.

How do you remember this. the test waslike 3 weeksago

I’m pretty sure it was emotional.

does anyone want to remind me of the question? lol.

anyway, i remember putting moralistic and being pretty sure of it. somewhere in the passage it said something about “right” and “wrong” so that’s why i put moralistic.
