Supposedly over the site, but…I’m going to be doubtful of that.

@NightShadeQueen 25 people from your school got a 42? o.O

Hey, is anyone willing to share a semi-final exam with me?

I have pdfs of books in exchange (marieb-anatomy, lodish mcb, alberts mcb, campbell 8th)

Thanks

P.S. sorry about that ■■■■■■■■ comment… logged in on someone else’s computer. yes, charles, it was indeed kzhao.

Hey guys,

I found the 2007 semifinal here: [Bio Club](http://www.biologyforlife.com/clubs/bioclub/bio%20club.htm) but it’s encrypted. GuaPDF can’t open it and freeware pdf unlocker can’t either. any ideas?

Thanks!

I qualified. Sidenote: Anyone else think Raven’s is written a lot better than campbell’s?
I find it so much more interesting…

Raven = Heaven. So many questions which requrie logic from Campbell can be just answered by memoriing Raven.

^Raven’s General Biology

Not plant’s right?

pretty sure they are talking about general bio one.

Hi guys, where can I view my score on the USABO website?

Dang I only got 37 -__- too careless…

Why can’t they announce earlier so we can actually prepare more for the next round…

^This.
Two weeks till semifinals, which is frankly really short.
I had no idea if I’d qualified and I wasn’t gonna waste time if I didn’t know for sure.
i was talking about Raven’s Bio of plants, actually.

wow, scores are still not up on the website, but how do school sponsors access it? Mine knows nothing at all about receiving scores so be as specific as possible so that I can guide her through it. Thanks :]

Hey TJHSST2013 did u make camp? And that’s Raven’s Bio (not Raven Plants)? Same question as above

does the open exam score affect your chances for qualifying as a national finalist - or is only the semifinal exam factored in?

Does anyone know how many people took the Open Exam this year (and last year)?

if anybody is interested in a past semi (full), or 2009/2010/2011 open exams… pm me for trades

Only the semifinal exam will affect the camp selection results. Open exam is just used to narrow down to the ~500 semifinalists.

What’s up with all this trading nonsense? Why can’t people just publicly release exams for the benefit of everybody? Every other Olympiad has a (sometimes publicly) compiled collection of past exams so everyone can access the problems. The purpose of this competition is twofold: to raise interest in biology and choose the USA IBO team. This secretive trading of exams clearly runs contrary to the first goal and frankly, if you need to resort to such tactics on the semifinal round of this contest, you’re probably not going to accomplish the second goal either. Publicly releasing any available tests would foster more interest in the competition and clear up many of the questions and misconceptions that are brought up annually about the format of the USABO. If we’re going to be so disgustingly secretive, what’s the point of even creating a public thread?

^ 2 reasons:

Because some other people wouldn’t share their resources and just take those of others.

CEE does not usually release its tests. I mean, all competitions provide some sort of practice test; it’s just that CEE is extremely secretive, so trading tests is actually against the rules.

"trading tests is actually against the rules. "

Where did you get that?
