USC 2009 transfer thread

I’ll have 45 after spring. I have a 3.9 as well so I’m sort of in the same boat as you guys, just a couple of units short. I just know that since I am a freshman, the circumstances may be different. I have 37 units including AP units but that won’t be counted in. Hmmmm…what to do.

thanks so much for your help aaam90. I got into my account and the “june 1st” status update was there. Phew!

and no problem Capt. Rodeo, i appreciate the honest answers. I’d rather know whats really going on then float on on with sugarcoated answers and then get rejected =(

why wouldn’t your AP units be included? of course they would. and from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like you’d receive a SGR. we basically are in the same boat, except you have more units than I do without my AP units.

no problem celine! i’m glad your update is there. what are your stats…if you don’t mind me asking.

I talked to my regional counselor and when they are evaluating your units, they don’t take your ap units into account in your gpa. they give you credits for ap after you’ve been admitted and you’re figuring out your status as a USC student.

oh well i know that of course. i thought you meant it wouldn’t count period. yeah I know my AP’s won’t contribute to my GPA. basically, I have completed 21 units and after spring, will have finished 36. HOPEFULLY, the people who don’t want the SGR (because i know some people want it) don’t get it, and the others who want it, do. but that is clearly idealistic and therefore, unrealistic. oh well.

umm i’m a sophomore transfer with 37 credits and a 3.77 gpa. I got rejected last year so I’m hoping and crossing my fingers that this year is my year! I applied to the Annenberg school…what about you?

Well uscplease777, aren’t you applying as a journalism or movie (don’t know what its called) major? With those great stats I would say that your chance of getting an SGR are lower. And, if you do get one, you have great grades! So why worry? :)

I applied to Annenberg too! What major did you apply for celine08?

celine08

If you don’t mind me asking, what GPA and amount of credits did you have when you got rejected last year?

wow it seems like you have a pretty good shot this year. i was rejected out of high school so this is my second time applying too. i’m going to have 36 units after spring and i applied with a 4.0 but i don’t know what that will go down to after this spring semester. i applied to L&S.

broadcast journalism…you?? do you know any admissions stats for annenberg? i haven’t come across any myself.

Capt. Rodeo -

I’m applying as a communications major. I’d just rather get a straight notice but idk what the chances of that are.

Ok, well good luck. I hope that you get in then we can watch you on channel 5 news

Celine, did you apply to annenberg last year as well? What were your stats?

ahh isn’t it the most nerve-wracking thing ever!? congrats on the stellar gpa! how likely is a SGR…if you’ve got such a high GPA won’t they prob not even ask you for one? my school is quarter system right now so my spring term doesn’t end until after june 1st! i can’t wait longer than that!

yea i applied last year. my high school stats were pretty bad…at least not good enough for USC. but now i’ve got 37 credits and a 3.77. you?

CaptainRodeo
last year i was applying from high school and i had a 3.0 and a 28 ACT… :/

I’m on a quarter system too! My school ends like June 16 or something completely ridiculous like that hahaha =(

thanks. what school do you go to currently?? i hope you don’t get an SGR either because that would mean a longer wait again after June 1st. rawr.

celine, did you take 37 units in one semester?? or how are you a sophomore already??
