do any sophomore transfers not get SGRs and get admitted? has this happened in past years? I graduted high school with a 3.7 unweighted and a 4.1 weighted and a 2000 SAT and was not admitted to USC. I am currently at ECC, one of USC top ten transfers school, and have a 4.0. The prefessor who wrote my letter of rec also got his doctorate from USC. Just wondering if there is anyy hope to get admitted without sending spring grades. thanks!

Yup. You could give them a call yourself and ask if the review process for transfer students started about two weeks ago. They’ll probably tell you the same thing. I’ve was contacted late Feb regarding my high school transcripts, but that was what the usc transfer workshop called the “pre-review filter (Stage 1)”. This is where most of the apps get rejected because they didn’t meet the basic transfer requirements. Stage 2 is when our apps get allocated to our major specific reviewers and get read through in detail. I think this stage is what the lady on the phone was talking about when I called in two weeks ago.

@klim3690

Stats? As in what major I applied under? I applied to Marshall for Business Admin. :)

i agree zircushio, but surprisingly, its the JAZZ fans that are notorious for being the worst fans these days:

[Utah Jazz: The Most Disgusting Fans In The NBA | Bleacher Report](<a href=“Utah Jazz: The Most Disgusting Fans In The NBA | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report”>Utah Jazz: The Most Disgusting Fans In The NBA | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report)

Grey,

Dude, sorry that is going on. Such is life, no? The people you pushed away I am sure care for you, and will come back. The friend you had to cover for- well, nothing can be done about that now. It’s done, that’s it, leave it there. The class that got dropped, ***** happens. It happens, and happens and happens. There others of us on here, including me, who had a class dropped. One of mine was this semester’s as well.

Oh, and try to read some philosophy other than that existentialist crap. Ya, I guess it can make some sense, but so does just about anything when we get stuck in our heads.

Oh, and the school work- I’m guessing about 80% of the US college population did the same thing as you. It’s normal, don’t fret. Just get it done, don’t sit and worry about it, just do it and it will get done.

I really appreciate that, man. I’ve been up writing my feeble-minded philosophy. Time to fess up, **** out all that stella artois, and get to bed. I have class at 9. Ouch.

Thanks again. Seriously.

Stella, nice choice. Try franziskaner heff, I think you’ll like it if you like stella lol

Wow mark I still think your nitwit and a simpleton, but Im going through the same existential phase as well.

grey -
the best thing to do, is to try to tell them about it and just genuinely apologize or at least talk about it… ive had bad fights with some of my best friends, and luckily, in some cases, its just blown over since we hang out with all the same people so weve been forced to interact and just got over it… but other times, its just been like, talk to them, say youre sorry, you really care about them, and youre going through a rough patch… theyll understand that
honesty is the key imo
maybe make it up somehow, invite them to dinner or something
like cap said, theyll come around
and hey, **** happens… whats important is learning how to deal with it :)

as for the class, yea that sucks, but hey, maybe it wont be that big of a deal? maybe you could talk to the teacher? or your conselor?

i dropped a class this semester too actually, like a communications class i was taking online, and i just wasnt feeling it anymore and my school is seriously killing my spirit… ive always been motivated and a hard worker, now i barely want to even get out of bed to go to school, thus ive missed like 80%(seriously) of my chem classes, although he doesnt take attendance so thats good… been almost depressing for me lately, and i just want to get out… i need to… and id rather take a year off and do some soul searching or something, than come back to this **** hole… i know how you feel, its tough… but yea, thats life… sucks, but its true… doesnt help that i too have postponed my schoolwork, and now have to cram so much in these last 10 days… like 5 finals and lots of homework/papers/etc… will have about 1 day/final to study… ![]()
ive been lucky, the only thing keeping me sane has been my girlfriend, just amazing
shes like one of my best friends too

try to talk to your buddies, im sure theyll forgive you and i think those friends will be able to help you get through the rest of the crap you gotta do
and dont forget, youre not alone :)

zircushio- fans yelling “so and so sucks” happens in every arena. Its not a big deal, it is part of home court/field advantage. Baltimore fans are the bitter fans yelling “I hate Mark Texiera” when the Yankees came to town…

Trojanpic - SCA does start reviewing their applications a bit early. I don’t know if the grades request had anything to do with that school, though, because March seems way too early to review. (But perhaps it isn’t.)

taco_grande,
If you can’t differentiate your and you’re, then I’ll have a hard time believing that you can even begin to grasp existentialism.

the jazz fans are possibly 100 times worse than lakers fans… its just part of the game

Red - I used critical studies as a backup as well. If I remember correctly it is the same degree on paper from USC as the production major, plus as stated, you can still take production classes. I think its a good alternative if you dont get admitted to the production program.

trojanpic - How many units do you have completed as of right now?

BoarderBry, No my name is charles (sorry its kind of late).
