USC 2009 transfer thread

holy crap you guys are posting fast! good luck captainrodeo!

search: “USC Admissions PKG.” on youtube

she didn’t send it into the office of admissions, of course not. it’s basically an “i know someone who knows someone important” circumstance hahaha. i was wondering what a professor at annenberg would think about my essays, ec’s, etc. in regards to the annenberg curriculum. i wanted any feedback that i can get pretty much. & my friend showed it to her buddy at annenberg just for the hell of it, i didn’t even know about it until i received her email. she relayed the message that people on campus have been saying that annenberg received a lot of applicants this year so it may be “tough” especially since i am a freshman and only have a year’s worth of work to show for my abilities.

I think its same to assume that video is referring to the general pool of applicants for the incoming class. Even though the total number of applicants has fallen short of previous years, that doesn’t necessarily mean Annenberg’s has as well. upsetting =(

ohh i see uscplease. well don’t worry about her feedback too much. i mean the only one that really matters is the official decision. so don’t let it get to you too much.

oh and ps, the admissions official in that video conducted the annenberg transfer meeting a couple of months ago. she’s intimidating in person! hahaha

thanks aaam90, i was trying to tell myself that too =(

if your talking about a.hill shes really cool. I’ve had the oppurtunity to sit and talk with her about my application. She’s very helpful and nice.

hahaha i think it was just my own inhibitions, i was so nervous being on campus and talking to administrators + i was trying to ask a million questions before some other eager student brisked her away

Ah, I wish I had more opportunities to visit the campus! I had the chance to take a tour when I went to California in January with my mom. She absolutely loved it and I did too. I just wish I got to see it when school was in session. I went during winter break, so there weren’t many kids there at all.

I should’ve gotten a USC shirt, but I was worried if I didn’t get in I’d be sad every time I saw the shirt again after, hahah.

I went there twice, once to drop off the form for my legal last name change, the again to drop off my high school and college transcript since the high school transcript reflected my old last name and the website said they never got it lol. The campus is awesome, most definitely gives you the entire big campus feel to it. The area its in is a whole different story though…

I’ve always been a fan of USC so I decided to get 2 shirts =D

I’ve heard bad things about the surrounding neighborhood, but while my mom and I drove around we were talking about how nice it looked. I think growing up in Brooklyn toughened us a bit, hahah.

They’ve been getting bad publicity lately with the hit and run, sexual assault claim from the Lambda Chi Alpha mixer, etc…I personally think the girl just drank too much and is pulling the rape card because I’m sure this happens on every almost every other college campus

CaptainRodeo,

I’m curious…what makes you feel like we’ll know in a week? I’m out of the loop.

yeah the surrounding area is pretty bad i’m not going to lie…but the campus is still beautiful.

i’m there all the time since my boyfriend goes there and my current school is only like 20 minutes away. there’s always something going on at campus and it’s so lively. i feel sad sometimes that i’m not really apart of it. almost like a poser. haha  but still. hopefully that will change. the campus is definitely beautiful and has a mix between old and modern buildings. ahh i just love USC.

and i REALLLY REALLY REALLY EALLY want to get in for fall so i have the chance to watch allll the football games in the student section.

edye28. not all of us will know in a week. HE and JOCELYNE MIGHT know in a week because of their current application status updates.

shoshu- thank you!
trying again…
I have a question… if i applied to marshall and I don’t qualify would they just put me in CLAS???

Stats:
Transferring from: Univ of Colorado for 3 semesters, now at SMC
Applied to: Marshall
GPA: 3.54 (will be higher after SMC)
Pre-reqs: Last ENG in progress
Credits: 52 after this semester

What do you think? I don’t think I have a good chance

whats your second choice major

I honestly think you won’t get into Marshall seeing as they don’t consider anyone unless they have a 3.7-4.0 but good luck nonetheless!

EDYE28- aaam90 pretty much summed it up. As RadRedhead said, I may not find out for 2-3 weeks. But, from what I heard, this is the status update you get before they make the “We have acted upon your application…” status. Hopefully we find out sooner than later. Jocelyn626 was updated the 24th, I was updated today, the 29th.
