have there ever been sophomores to get a straight acceptance, not an SGR? also is there a difference between and SGR and a special grade submission that jennnn got? or is the SGS just the official USC name for the SGR?

I believe they are the same thing: special grade submission, spring grade request, special grade request…

usc4, maybe you could look on the official decisions thread from last year to see the answer to your question. and if you find it, come back and tell us.
because a lot of us are incoming sophomores.

Yuta- yeah you have the same status that Captain Rodeo and I have

and yeah same question as Captain Rodeo, are we going to be getting decisions or maybe sgr?

jocelyne, i think you guys will be getting decisions rather than SGRs because the people who received SGRs, their status went from “we are reviewing your application…” to “we have requested your spring grades…” and no in between. but yours went from the first one to “the committee is reviewing…”

also usc4, here’s the link:

a few people i think got in as sophomores but i’m not sure if they got an SGR first and then got accepted.

Yayyyy No SGR >.< (I hope)

@Jocelyne626: Thanks :D

The paranoia is starting for me. I’m checking my status waaaaaaay too much. Please, SC, Please.

arghhh after reading the stat for 2008, I’m so scared lol… So, I’m guessing if you have above 3.6 or 3.7 then ya safe for Marshall @_@?

ok so i checked the 2008 thread. there were sophomores accepted. many of them had 40-60 units completed though. there were also some sophomores accepted with around 30 units. the ones in this situation didn’t mention whether or not they recieved SGRs first, but judging by the post dates (in early to mid june) they most likely did not recieve SGRs, just straight acceptances. there was also a few sophomores that said accepted but mentioned recieving and SGR first. soooo it SEEMS some sophomores COULD get straight acceptances, especially those with a lot of units completed.

oh and congrats yausc!!! ;)

Well, vnmike, if you are going based off the stats from last year, it is the most authoritative source that we having concerning admission on a more personal level in contrast to the more broad statistics that college disseminate that consist of percent admitted and so forth. Even with that said, santa monica received an SGR with a 4.0 and 56 credit (units?). While I did not, and I have 37 for the moment that are transferable (3.9 transfer GPA). So, while you may be safe, I am sure there are some things that we don’t know about that the admissions committee considers. Probably things we don’t even need to think about.

Well… at least I think I won’t receive an SGR

i don’t think you will either captain. and if you do, i guess it could only help you at this point. although it would be nice to know sooner than later.

JUST played my soccer semifinals, and it was the most dramatic thing of my life.
