USC 2009 transfer thread

what time do you sleep, aaam90?

i messaged back captainrodeo… it sounds great. send it over!!

aaam… i dont know about msyelf, since i have had a few ups and downs affecting my gpa. but i talked to my admissions counselor to ask if usc looked at upward trend and personal situations and i explained mine to her, and she absically said “by telling me, u’ve officially informed usc, so i’m going to add that to ur application as a side note” and i was like great!

but my bf, i think he has a strong chance. hes only first year, but hes super smart. hes only had one B so far. and he applied to marshall but actually wants to switch to biology (second major)… and hes already like got an internship at a pharmacy and stuff. his overall is 3.79 right now (3.67 first qtr, 3.91 second, 4.0 - expected third) so he has an awesome chance i think. we’ll find out!

captain rodeo, that sounds good. not too anxious and it’s professional. but maybe you don’t have to include TOO much description about what the class covered?? :)

also zamela,

it all depends. usually if i know i don’t have to wake up early, around 2ish. and on the weekends, even later. so very similar to you.

peppamintt it sounds like both of you have a good shot. i hope you get in. is it both of your guys’ first choice?

peppamint- a usc admissions counselor is who you talked to concerning your upward trend and personal situations?

oh and hes like already written articles for the Indian Journal of Cancer, and went on a medical research project around hte world back in high school to research the effcts of cigarrettes on cancer and all that… definately med school material?

captainrodeo, i did… here’s the email:

"Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for your email.

Yes, we do take into consideration upward trends in students’ transcripts. You just informed USC (me) about the upward trend and about the honors program. I will note your application of this information."

Very cool. Should I mention my GPA in the email… “I am a Religion major with a transfer GPA of 3.93…” or is that a little too… I dunno, jerky… pompous… probably just stick to the original you think?

Wow. I would say he has prepared himself pretty well for med school.

yeah captain, don’t include that. she can already see that on your application.

and yeah peppamint he is a total future med-school student haha

u dont need to, i mean, all u need to write is ur USC ID. they basically have access to your entire application, and have the right to make changes. if you want to make a change, u just email them. that’s what she told me to do atleast.

Ok great, thank you SO MUCH peppamintt

is everyone here on the WEST coast? i feel like i’m the only one crazy enough to be up at 1:22 AM :/

yeah west coast here
and i have been just reading last year’s thread when they were in May and wanting to figure out when the 1st rejection was (my biggest fear is to get that, especially early)

haha… zircushio, dont worry… we’ll up up when its 4:22 AM for u =P

haha zircushio. i’ll probably be up at 1:22 west coast time but by then it will be 4:22 where you are.

So I sent it… But, I had to send it twice. Forgot to put a subject header the first time. Ohhh well

alright captainrodeo. hopefully she replies with good news. or maybe your status will update tomorrow. ahh! it’s all out of our control. life is just out of our control becauase the sheer number of college applicants applying the same year as us was determined for us by the year we were all born. ahhhh!

East coast here, too! New Yorkkkkk! From New Jersey though

okay sorry. i freaked out a little lol.

hahaha. that’s an interesting way to look at it aaam90. Thanks as well
