USC 2009 transfer thread

depends, which site are you referring to? www.usc.edu/deposit?

one-way-It lists all the documents they got under Received Documents for me. Nothing of mine is pending because I completed everything with financial aid. I would suggest you call tomorrow.

waitingonSC-You got rejected? I’m sorry to hear that. =(

Nah, I’m kidding. I got an SGR and just finished my last final just a few minutes ago. I’m predicting the future. LOL.

My question to the board:

USC has been my dream school throughout high school and I even went to JC to improve my chances at getting in. Now the problem is that if I get in I will have to obviously take out a lot of loans to afford it. My family has been struck really bad by the economic crisis, so I’m not sure if going to a private school would make sense financially, but USC is where I’ve always wanted to go.

So what would you guys do if you were in my position? Go to USC and take on the financial burden, do JC for another year and try USC again next year, or just go to a UC and CSU next year and forget about USC?

Also note that I hate JC

I know it’s random, but just thought I’d ask

waitingonusc-Oh okay. Nice rehearsal or uh, practice? Lol.

LOL! Yup! This sucks…grr…I want in! I want in! I want in!

Disclaimer USC made me into a whiner. :)

Matt- go to USC if you get in, the money will come later in the future. Good luck. I got into several UC’s and have no interest in submitting an SIR.

matt- if ur a freshmen in JC i say go to JC for another year and apply next year, just for financial reasons

waitingonusc-It’s okay. We’re allowed to whine for waiting months for one decision. This is absolute torture. I want my decision right now!!!

IM SOOOO ANNOYED. I called today to make sure they are going to be sending my letter to my home address in NY but they sent it to my school address!! Im gonna have to wait till next week for my letter now…

Maximum-That sucks but hey, at least you’re in. I would be super happy to be in your position.

Good point linsper! Let the whining continue.
Oh sweet, your from NY, I got wait listed at Columbia. Chances of getting in from the wait list are slim to none. But, I would love to live in NY.

maximum-what kind of letter? (if you don’t mind me asking) Nevermind! Congrats!

ahhaha yea i just don’t feel like its official yet…like I don’t wanna tell anyone until i see it lol

ohhh man maximum that sucks!

Well i got a status update yesterday and i was able to log into the commitment page for the first time today. And they said they sent out something today so hopefully its an acceptance letter hahah.

That would be awesome though if you could go to Columbia tho! Im sure ur gonna get into USC if you got wait-listed from an Ivy!

I hope you’re right! But, I also wrote a two-thousand word essay for Columbia. SC only wanted 600 max (if I remember correctly).

Yea that USC one was wayyy to short.

Has any transfer students been rejected yet? Or have they only sent out acceptance letters?

According to the decisions page, nobody has been rejected. But maybe there are some ppl that just don’t post if they get rejected?

Haven’t heard of any rejections but quite of few acceptance letters have been received. According to someone on this forum that spoke with an admissions counselor, they were told that only 5% of the acceptance letters have been sent out.
