USC 2009 transfer thread

hehe thats likely the case, I asked my counselor and he said theres only one person who applied to usc under my name…but they called me again saying things are sorted out and a new decision will be made soon

No Peppamint, legacy does not weigh in too your decision. There are plenty of people who were rejected and they still had legacy.

That seems really bad. But I know that they link your old app if you applied before (or so I was told) to your new one. Maybe that’s what happened. They thought it was the same person who made two accounts or something.

Manoftroy… that’s pretty funny how both of you are posting on the same thread. haha
Even though the situation isn’t funny. Good luck!

grind, it likely matters, but not much. It won’t save you from a 2.0 GPA but it may give you the edge over an otherwise identical person.

Again. Legacy has not weight in itself. The only time legacy would weigh in is if your relative donated a substantial amount of money to the school.

I was one of the first to received a SGR back in April… I sent in my grades last Tuesday and finally received an update today!

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by June 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning June 11th.

Uhh… I hate how it’s not acted upon. I feel like my application is going backwards.

can you log into the deposit page jennnn?

Link me and I’ll try?

www.usc.edu/deposit

nope… =(

Hopefully it will be later updated to “acted on/acted upon.”

that’s still okay. maybe you will be able to tomorrow! i can’t yet either, but hoping that will change soon. if your status just changed to reviewing today then they usually put access on the deposit page the next day it’s you’re accepted. but that’s just what i’ve noticed from people on this thread. it may differ for everyone.

what are your stats?

It’s on the official thread of USC 2009. Sorry, I don’t feel like repeating myself for the 3489734th time.

Did you get a SGR and/or update also?

lol, that’s understandable.

yeah i got a SGR on may 5th i think. i sent in my grades about 3 weeks ago and they just received them last wednesday. i haven’t had any updates since and my status on my application page hasn’t updated since 01/23/2009 so i call a lot to check my status, lol. i called today and they said that it’s still under review and there hasn’t been a decision yet. this is such a stressful wait! :/

Eh, they make updates on an account that I never submitted anything in… So the one I sent in my application has no updates. I emailed them about it and they still make updates on the nonactive one. Oh wells, at least I’m getting updates one way or another.

Did you apply to other schools besides USC?

yeah i called about it and they said just ignore it, lol.

no, i don’t have enough credits to apply anywhere else i would want to go to. it’s either USC or my CC for another year. if i am rejected this year, i’ll reapply to USC and probably apply to Pepperdine, LMU, and UCLA (i know, i know).
what about you?

oh, and UCB for laughs :D

If USC doesn’t accept me I’m going to UCLA starting this summer.

That’s a bit of a downgrade. I’m so sorry for you.
