USC 2009 transfer thread

I’m not going to go into the whole USC versus UCLA rival thing with you Iamrecognized, on collegeconfidential. It’s unnecessary.

Save your school pride for the football games and rival week. Oh wait, you’re not even accepted yet. Ha, that’s ironic. You already have school pride for a school you haven’t attended.

Dang, no decisions for you guys as of yet. I wish you guys good luck for tomorrow.

iamrecognized-UCLA is not a downgrade from USC; even though I am choosing USC over UCLA. They are both exceptional schools. No shame in going to UCLA.

waitingonSC,

Are you accepted to USC already?

I did get accepted for the spring semester. USC is my dream school, so I don’t mind waiting a few extra months.

But people sound ignorant when they say UCLA is inferior to USC.

Congrats!

Oh I know, the comparisons between UCLA and USC or UCLA with Cal is a bit silly. Seriously, all schools are great. Bravo for anyone getting into any of them.

Thanks! I couldn’t agree more!

Good luck! I was also an SGR applicant, like yourself. There is hope for us SGR’s. :)

Thanks! When did you submit your grades and hear back from them?

I cannot recall the exact dates. But, I will give you an approximate time line.

5/29: Personally submitted grades on campus. (status update)
5/30: Committee is reviewing update.
6/1: Committee has acted on. Able to log onto deposit website.
6/3: Received package.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! Hopefully, I’ll know by tomorrow or at least, by the end of the week.

I’ll cross my fingers for you! Is USC your number 1?

I like their philosophy program better than UCLA’s. Plus, with public school budget cuts… there are less classes. With USC or other private schools, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Oh, and thank you again.

Thanks for the shot of hope there ‘waitingonSC’…

I am still waiting, still holding out hope. No mail today. Maybe tomorrow.
I don’t know why all the cloak of secrecy after June 1st is necessary. I don’t have an SGR. A decision has been made. Why not just tell a dude what it is? It’s not like they can’t see it on the screen when you call.

I am frustrated.
Over nothing really.

LOL.

Dang greg, that really sucks that you are still waiting. You have a good resume too. SC has been the most stressful school, by far!

It has easily been the most stressful. Or maybe I am just ungrateful and God’s trying to show me something about that. Haven’t decided which.

My days go like this:
Everyday I wait for a package or even a letter. And everyday someone from FSU calls.

See, I am ducking the people at FSU where I have a full scholarship into their creative writing program. I haven’t responded to housing requests, orientation reservations or scheduling of advisement appointments. Like I fell off the face of the Earth.

I am thinking I am going to tell them I was ‘out of the country’ at least that’s my initial story and I am sticking to it.

But the truth of the matter is: I haven’t answered them yet because I am ‘waitingonSC’.

So I have to wait till tomorrow. At some point I am going have to stop lying or stop kidding myself. But not today. A answer from USC would help. Any answer.

Till then I hold out hope. I think I can go at least another day.

To all you upset at me for the USC > ucla thing, please do keep in mind a few things:

Both my parents attended USC

Both my parents were in the USC Band

I’ve been to nearly every home USC football game since about 1994 or so

I’ve been in the USC Band for the last year

USC > UCLA. No need to explain Iamrecognized. USC ALL DAY!

Greg, are you serious? STILL no answer yet? What do they tell you when you call?

have we heard from any SGRs who have been rejected? i haven’t yet…i hope that’s a good sign!

Greg’s Official USC Excuse Shirt:

“Call on the 11th.”
“No. I can’t tell you.”
“Really? You didn’t receive an answer from us yet.”
“What’s your address?”
“I see a decision has been made.”
“It was sent.”

@TRISH — Any one of those…
LOL.
