USC 2009 transfer thread

^^^^^ shouldnt this be in the accepted thread lol? hope that didnt sound rude but it’s just difficult to read about housing when we still havent been accepted yet haha

Any new updates for SGR still waiting?

do you have to put your deposit in before you can apply for housing?!?!?!

Glotzer, no. You can apply for housing before that. Grey strated the application in Feb. and then when he got accepted and deposited the $300, he payed for the housing and received an assignment in 4 days.

Collegehopeful21: you are right. sorry. But nobody answers my questions in the admitted thread :frowning:
I hope you all get accepted very soon :)

I ment Glitzer* sorry… haha

meant* JEESH what’s up with my typos today!

yeah, im sorry collegehopeful, that was a bit inconsiderate. Good luck to u and everyone

uughh! When are the SGR’s gonna receive their desicions? When is everyone gonna receive their financial aid? When will I know about housing? WHY is the transfer orientation in mid july???

thanks chaly and mcguigs, i really appreciate your cooperation and encouragement. hopefully we all get in <3

i want to call again to see if they’ve made a decision yet, but i don’t want them to be like “okay, uh, you need to stop calling!” lol

i’ll call on monday, haha

Hey guys, I cannot believe there is still people waiting. Hopefully, the good word is released today or comes in the mail.

i knowwwww, it sucks! i really really really hope we won’t have to wait til mid-july! that’s some sick and twisted form of abuse

marco i just called them for us and the woman said that it stills need to be forwarded to the committee, like my friggin status says. because our grades just got processed ladaladalada. but better than a rejection letter!

The deadline for people to turn in their grades for spring is 6/30, maybe they wait until 7/1 to make most of the decisions?

very true, it’s just so stressful! i’m glad i’m not the only one waiting though. everyone on this thread rocks!

i just wish my status would update so i could have an idea!

crossing my fingers for everyone still waiting

dont get to excited even if you are accepted! I just got my fionancial aid and my EFC is 0. The difference that they want me to come up with is 9,936 dollars and all thjis will have to be inloans. That means I will have a total loan amount of 16,000. I dont get how they say they will meet full need! :(

Azazi I’d be happy to be in your position. Just think of it as an investment into your future. =D

@azazi

meeting full need does not equal giving you a full-ride. Financial aid typically consists of loans, work-study, grants, and scholarships. Only the top 1-2% of admitted students receive a full-ride. Top recruited athletes also receive a full-ride, but sports bring in major revenue for schools–especially for schools like SC. I would have had to take out $9,000 in loans had I gone to a state school. You having to take out $16,000 in loans is nothing for a school like SC. Also, being late on the application typically reduces the amount of grants you can get.

Meeting full need just means that you will not have to come up with upfront money out-of-pocket to attend (e.g., beg, borrow, steal, whore yourself on Hollywood and Vine). If you have to take out $16,000 in loans, that means they gave you roughly $38,000 in grants. That’s pretty ****ing generous, if you ask me.

*** Okay, so the edit thing is malfunctioning, so please excuse the ■■■■■■■■ post. You’re all off to college–I’m sure you can decipher my message.
