USC 2009 transfer thread

^ whats your EFC and what kind of package?

Finally received my financial aid stuff today. Let’s just say I’m really satisfied =)

*Guess it helps to be married with 2 kids and 7 years in the military.

haha yea will;D thats the only reason you got married and had kids, right ? :stuck_out_tongue: jk

this wait is so ridiculous! i don’t even feel like i’m waiting for an admission decision anymore :|

ns89: Muahaha! My evil plan worked! Muahahaha!.. j/k

Thank you for your inquiry.

A note has be made in your file regarding your concern, if possible please send a grade report signed by your teachers with your grade as soon as possible.

Oh wow so my status has changed to the committee has made a decision on my app and i should receive a letter soon. Any other SGR have this as well?

no but my status changed from
“we are unable to process…”
to
“We have received the spring grades requested by the committee. We will be forwarding your file for further review very soon. For students submitting spring grades, we typically mail final decisions by mid-July.”

:(

Yeah mine said that a while ago but they got my grades earlier. Im so nervous now this is finally it, i dont know what to expect.

I wish my grades would be released already, I want to send them in!

Oh wow im so nervous now, please help me guys.

i just don’t understand why they tell us so late.
By mid-july, orientations are full and we’re already too late to sign up for classes for both USC and the college we’re at. I hope they hurry up and make their decision for all the SGR students so our futures are not so much at stake.

I’m going to register for classes at my CC just in case. I am concerned about USC though, won’t all classes be full by then?

that’s what i’m saying… :frowning:
all the good classes will already be full.

I’d rather be admitted for spring, since we’ll have more time to figure that stuff out.
Mid-July is such short notice…

I have no idea it sucks that we have to wait this long but some SGR have not even turned their grades in yet so i think that they are already making decisions on SGR applicants when in the past we thought that they were going to wait for everyone to turn theirs in?

Yes, they must be making decisions already.

So then they dont compare all the SGR and pick the ones with higher GPA’s?

I think they use the SGR to see if you’ve kept an upward trend in your grades and to make sure the pre req courses were completed.
Most of us who have gotten SGRs were those who were transferring in as sophomores with pre req units still in progress. Maybe USC wanted to make sure that we were consistent with our grades? I’m pretty sure the don’t just pick and choose people with higher GPA’s. Or at least I hope not…

Hey guys!

I just wanted to post and inform you guys on my recent update!

BTW, I am a transfer applicant to Marshall… I went to UCR for my freshman year…

Okay so, before school ended, I personally asked each of my professors to confirm my grades earlier than the rest… since I had an SGR… so I gave each one of them a Marshall grade card…

I took my last final on Thursday, June 11th (last Thursday) and was able to get all of my grades in by Tuesday, which is wayyyyy before they even showed up in the system. So on Tuesday, I went rapidly drove over to UCR from Pasadena, picked up my last grade card, went home to scan my grade cards to e-mail my USC counselor, then jetted over to the Admissions Office at USC to submit my spring grades!!

The next day, (yesterday) I got a status update saying something along the lines of “the Admissions Office is forwarding your application for the committee to review.”

TODAY, I got ANOTHER status update saying:
“The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed.”

Right after I saw that, I immediately logged into the deposit site and WAS ABLE TO LOG IN! so hopefully I’ll be receiving something sooN!!

I just wanted to inform you guys and wish you all the best!

For those who got an SGR, let me just tell you, ACT AS FAST AS YOU CAN! The admission committee is definitely on top of their stuff, and they will get you an answer as soon as you submit all the required materials.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Yeah i hope you are right i had my my english 102 in progress for spring but i also got to B’s in spainsh 202 and Math so i dont know at this pont if that is good or bad?
