USC 2009 transfer thread

i really want a USC hoody and some shirts!!! hmm that might get annoying, but i’m sure you could prob crash at some people’s dorms occasionally and stuff once you get to know people more. and save like a bajillon dollars! ahh i hope we all get in! i’m all hyped up now lol :D

i cannot find my computer plug ANYWHERE…***ff. i had it in my purse before i left work i know i did. crap. anyway sorry i had to share that with anyone. i did alright first semester but second semester my gpa was significantly lower than first semester :frowning: that’s why.

Marco - I too have 26 units done, and not so great high school grades. I didn’t even take the SATs. I’m taking a 5 unit class this summer to put me over the 30 units, but I’m not sure how they will be factored in since I will have been rejected or accepted by the time I complete the class.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring us all good news!

I knowwww!
i’m so excited!!!
I know a few people who go there right now, but they’re all super smarty pants(es). :frowning:
biochem/microbio double majoring smarties.
I really want to go to SC :frowning:
and walk around campus.
and visit people in their dorms.
and join a sorority:(
PLEASE LET TOMORROW BE THE DAY!!! :)

amorrison- glad you got your grades! yeah, i think all professors had to turn grades in by tuesday…so everyone should have grades up today. anyways, good luck! did you get an SGR?

ah glor that all sounds amazing! haha

and AMorrison, it’s good to see that there are other people with fewer hours out there! i know andWILLsays was accepted with 26 hours and a weak HS GPA and he got a SGR too. but i guess we wouldn’t have gotten SGRs if they weren’t interested in us.

collegehopeful, what are your fall and spring GPAs?

Yes! So glad to finally be able to breath easy knowing I’ve done all I can do at this point, now I just have to wait.

Did you submit grades today too?

i cannot believe i’m admitting this online…but like someone told me nothing is too precious. and i think letting it out is a good thing rather than hold it in. 3.6–>3.0 I CRIED FOR TWO WEEKS (okay not cried but was seriously super duper depressed about it…literally saw my dreams go DOWN the drain) let’s not talk about it :)

A Morrison–
If you live in Pasadena, you should personally drop off your spring grades.
They give you a hand written receipt and puts it into your file right away.

:)

I strongly agree with Glors advice!

And everyone I know that a downgrading gpa seriously DAMAGES my chances so please dont repeat that to me.

Collegehopeful–
I cried too when my spring grades came out.
I had a 93 in my math class going into the final, but somehow ended up with a B.
Apparently I really ****ed up on my final -___________-

sure thing collegehopeful, but just stay positive and keep in mind that they don’t make decisions completely based off of GPAs and numbers and stuff. i think you still have a good shot :)

That’s a good idea! I faxed them in today, but they haven’t registered as received yet. My only problem is that I work full time and so it makes it harder for me to get to downtown (from Burbank) during work hours. If they haven’t updated my status by next Monday, I’ll definitely drive over there.

and you never know collegehopeful!
Afterall, USC is a private school, and we know that private schools look at more than just stats.
Maybe they’ll just accept you because you’re just an amazing person and you’re trojan material.
Don’t lose hope.
Tomorrows the day!!

Yes! You never know what they are looking for, collegehopeful! Hopefully you’ll hear soon and it will be good news!

AMorrison

I live in La Crescenta hehe so we’re pretty close. I skipped work the day my transcript was ready and drove over to USC.
My final transcript technically wasn’t out yet, but I met and talked with the dean of admissions, and she finished mine for me really quickly on the spot. Afterall, I did pay for rush transcripts =___________=
But it was totally worth it!
USC admissions gave me a written receipt and my status changed almost immediately. :)

Yeah, I had to fax over my unofficial - still waiting for the “final” to be released! Good idea, I’ll see if I can talk to someone after class tomorrow morning.

AWWW you guys are SO nice!!! some people on here just like throw others to the ground to make themselves feel better. oh and i found my plug obviously it was in my purse pocket although i swear i looked there!

amorrison, i work in burbank as well! i think you have a quicker chance of hearing a response if you fax/hand deliver it to them because then they dont have to deal throug the mail.

thanks everyone for all your support, that seriously helps so much! i hope we all get in together, i really do

yeah. I kind of exaggerated the whole deadline thing to my dean…
I said that it has to be in their system by june 30th in order to be eligible for admission.
I think my dean felt bad because I kept emailing her and calling her.
She made my final transcript for me on the spot. haha

gooooood morning everyone! time to get some acceptances goin’!
