USC 2009 transfer thread

amorrison, yea i think that has happened to several people, good luck! :)

Yeah I remember it happening before AMorrison. Some people couldn’t even log on until a couple of days after they received their packet

good luck AMorrison! i also remember that happening to others, so hopefully it’s going that way for you! good luck to everyone, again!

Thanks guys! I guess I’ll just have to wait for the mail tomorrow. First time ever I want to skip over Sunday to get to Monday.

Collegehopeful- have you heard anything?

does anyone know if USC has any vegetarian accommodations in their cafes? i’m trying to decide whether or not i should prepare myself to give it up or not.

nvm, just googled “usc vegetarian” and this was the first thing to pop up:
[Healthy Vegetarian Dishes - Healthy Trojans - Wellness at USC](http://wellness.usc.edu/2008/04/october-is-world-vegetarian-mo.html)

seems pretty well equipped with veggie alternatives!

Marco, I’m pretty sure earlier you said you used a fee waiver to pay for your enrollment deposit. How do you know if you qualify for one? I remember using one for the SAT back in high school but I’m not sure if I qualify for one in this case…

nope i havent heard a single thing…this is so annoying ive been waiting since BEGINNING OF JUNE

i’m pretty sure it said you qualify if you received an ACT/SAT waiver or are under financial hardship. they ask for the name, #, email, etc. of a fin. aid person at your current college who can verify that you need the waiver. you could call your school’s FA office and see if they think you would qualify for one. there is also a little box where you can explain why the waiver would be financially helpful.

i know collegehopeful, that is ridiculous
well, if they keep their word, all decisions should be made this week. i hope all of your statuses change tomorrow and then access to the deposit page the next day!! :D

ajajaja marco youre so lucky! you and i were in this together! you got accepted already :frowning: i had a dream last night that i got my acceptance package but couldnt find the letter that said i was actually in cuz there was so much stuff that came in the package. i woke up to realize it was all a dream. you have no idea how disappointed i was

i wonder how they choose who’s apps they review in a day. they obviously missed the memo that they were supposed to review ours on the same day!
lol i had that dream too! my status changed to “forwarded for committee review” last monday, so, by my logic, someone’s status from here will change this monday now :D

if i want to transfer as a soph. for fall of 2010 for business admin, do i still need to complete the prereq. classes or should i transfer as undecided and complete the classes at usc?

i was under the impression that you needed to complete the prereqs before they can make an admission decision on your app. the website recommends that you complete them before you apply though

complete as many prereqs as you can. especially if you know you can get As in them so your app will look better.

i took all the prereq for biz during my 1 year at jc

My son did not have the pre-reqs he needed for Marshall, so he applied as Undeclared and was accepted for this fall. He is going to try an internal transfer into Marshall after his sophomore year. He even stated that was his intention in one of his short essays. There is no guarantee, but his advisor said if he kept his grades around 3.3 or higher at USC, it is doable.

Time to go stalk the mailman… I’m hoping I’ll have something in the mailbox if my status changed to “acted on” Saturday morning.

Marco - It’s California! Of course we have veggie options :).

Well - I got rejected. I’m pretty bummed because I thought my stats were great, but I’ll just have to try again next year after completing more units. Good luck, collegehopeful!

I can log into my financial aid document. Is it the status update under “my admission checklist” the one that will change to acted upon?

If so mine (still) says:

Your status:

We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.

AMorrison–
How do you know? Did you get the letter?
I’m so scared… my status didn’t change yet…

Yep, I got the letter today. Says that there were 9,750+ applicants and that they had to reject 75% of them.
